ENTREPRENEUR VS INTRAPRENEUR





Hello, guys today we are going to talk about the difference between Entrepreneur and Intrapreneur. Many of my readers while seeing the word 'Intrapreneur' must have thought I have heard about 'Entrepreneur' but what is this 'Intrapreneur' ? Is this a spelling mistake or any synonym of Entrepreneur. 

The answer to this question is that there is niether any spelling mistake nor a synonym of Entrepreneur.  Though the two sounds same.

Entrepreneur is similar to Intrapeneur but only upto a certain extent. Entrepreneur's works independently on their enterprises while Intrapreneur's are employees and innovates their employer's business from within the organisation.

Okay, before we go ahead let's know what do we actually mean by a Entrepreneur and a Intrapeneur. 


An Entrepreneur is an initiator, a challenger and a driver.He or she is the one who creates something new, either an initiative, a business or a company. He or she is the beginning (and sometimes the end) of a venture, project or activity. 

While, 


An Intrapreneur is an employee who has been assigned with the task of developing an innovative idea or project within a company. The Intrapreneur may not face the outsized risks or reap the outsized rewards of an Entrepreneur but the  has access to the resources and capabilities of an established company.

 

Unlike Entrepreneur, Intrapreneur's don't have a self- vision but have a shared vision. They are more efficient than other employees as they consider the organisation as their family. Unlike Employees they are not Paid for the time they spend in the organisation but are paid for the values they create.

Intrapreneur refers to those employees who works for the organisation just as the Entrepreneur does. They take experimental initiative by accepting the opportunity given to them by the organisation sometimes ownership.

Now, let's see what are the  similarities and dissimilarities between Entrepreneur and Intrapeneur with the help of the following image:


Now, after going through through so many details there might be a question in the mind of the reader's, whether it is better to have an Entrepreneur or an Intrapreneur ? 

The answer to this is :

Both Entrepreneur and Intrapeneur are leaders that create and innovates new ideas. An Entrepreneur runs it's own company. They have complete freedom and responsibility while An Intrapreneur is responsible for innovating with an existing organisation. This makes Intrapreneurship less risky but at the sametime it has less autonomy.

By comparing both of them it seems that Intrapreneurship has a great chance in the future. Thus, it is better to have a Intrapeneur than an Entrepreneur.
